Hmmm... what to say? Let's start from the beginning. I have always been a tinkerer, ever since I was young. Being raised in a family of auto mechanics, carpenters, plumbers, basically jacks of all trades, put just about any hand tool you could think of at my fingertips. I have always had a nack for figuring out how to fix things that others said could not be fixed. When I started working as a teen I put those skills to work teaching myself how to build and service bicycles. I have worked many other jobs but have always come back to working with my hands. Most of my early bike learning was the pre-YouTube era, so there was a lot of trial and error. In my opinion there is no better way to learn. Fast forward 20+ years, I have now built and services bikes for many companies over the years, always expanding my knowledge. I have been named regional expert for a big box retail company, putting me in charge of certifying up and coming bicycle technicians as well as recertifying existing ones. I have managed bike sales and service for multiple stores, within this company, up and down Florida's Gulf Coast and now am looking to work for myself doing what I love to do, which is helping others. Oh! Biggest peeve with bikes- when customers tell me that the bike shop said it wasn't worth fixing. If you love your bike, there is always a way to bring her back to glory, You just need to let me know what you want to do. I look forward to hearing from you.
No service fees associated with these services.
New bike assembly, wheels trued, bike components properly lubricated, drivetrain set, brake cables stretched. Build price subject to additional charges if major component installation required. Discount available when having multiple bikes assembled. Please note, this service is for retail style builds. High performance road bikes, that usually come with bare frames requiring installation of the majority of their components, will be quoted “per bike.”
All Aspects of your bike will be checked for functionality. Wheels trued, gears adjusted, light frame wipe down, chain degreased, wiped, and lubricated, wheels and handlebars will be loosened and retightened to ensure proper torque.
Basically your Standard Tune Up + All cable/housing replacement(brakes and gears), threaded bottom bracket overhaul, freewheel/cassette overhaul, chain overhaul.
Nothing worse than crunchy noises while you are pedaling, time for smooth sailing. All parts will be an additional cost
Inspection of drive train. Adjust front and rear derailleurs, check shift cables and housing for fluid movement, quick wipe down/re-lube of chain.
I can either install a new bottom bracket that you already have, I can order you a whole new one(upgraded depending on what you currently have), or I can rebuild what is already there.
Usually requires the purchase of a master link to put the chain back together, but makes all subsequent cleanings much, much easier. If you already have a master link I will give you a discount on the cleaning.
Please note that if it is the front derailleur needing to be installed, there will be an additional cost of a master link to reassemble the chain.
Not being able to stop is not a good feeling, sometimes it can be from a small issue, but sometimes its way worse than you thought. Lets get to work. All parts will be an additional cost
Includes installation of new brake pads(pads extra), wheel truing, all necessary adjustments, brake cable/housing inspection for fluid movement(hydraulic).
Cost for each lever needing installation, sometimes you only need 1. Please remember this service requires the adjustment after installation.
Sometimes the best thing is to buy a new wheel, but lets take a look at it first. If I can fix it, it will be done. All Parts will be an additional cost.
Cost per wheel.
Cost is for each spoke replaced. This service also requires the wheel to be trued.
Too many impacts(I.E. jumping off of stuff) can cause the hub of a wheel to loosen. If not caught it can damage the wheel axle, bearings, and brearing cup of the wheel causing you to need to replace the wheel, lets catch that before it happens.
Remove wheel axle and bearings, clean inside of hub, axle, bearings, re-grease, and then reassemble.
That thing on your back wheel that has all the cogs on it. Well it can get super dirty or loose and start popping and grinding. Well I'll take it apart, clean it out, put more grease in it, then put it back together.
Sometimes it's better to just put a new one on, I can do that too.
Just some odds and ends things that usually need to be done depending on how serious of a rider you are. Parts and moving items from previous handlebar will be an additional cost
Sometimes people don't have bikes, but they do have a bunch of other cool things that they need to have assembled. Well if you already have it at home and need it assembled, here are some things I can help with.
Size matters, the bigger the grill the more time it will take, so it will cost more to assemble. The most expensive it will be though is $65
Treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, etc.
Based on size
